After watching a beautiful sunset, accompanied by a brilliant "green flash" this evening, we knew our time in the Blue Lagoon was coming to an end.

Today, after a long walk on the beach passed the Fiji Princess "cruise ship", which arrived this morning and through the Coconut Grove, we enjoyed a mid-morning coffee before saying our goodbyes to the manager, Tim, at Nanuya Island Resort. Unfortunately many of the staff who have made us feel so welcome over the past two weeks were off duty, so we asked Tim to please extend our thanks to them. It was lovely to be set up with a "virtual room" at the resort, which allowed us to be "guests" and it certainly simplied the financial aspect for our dinners, tours, happy hours etc, where everything was simply charged to our "room" and then settled today, as if we were checking out. Couple that convenience with being addressed by our names whenever we interacted with the staff and, it's not only hard to beat that kind of service, but it definitely added a very personal touch to our "stay"!

This afternoon Elaine got started on some of her sewing activities which she has been postponing for weeks. They included making covers for the dinghy handles, which are getting destroyed by the sun and repairing the cover of the starboard lifering, which got ripped off the lifelines during our passage from New Zealand.

Roy had an easy day today, busying himself with the watermaker and cleaning the barbecue, after spending most of yesterday morning diving to clean Paw Paw's bottom. Exhausted from his underwater exploits, we, ie the royal "we", Roy, ended up passing on a game of beach cricket with Two Up and Tactical Directions - Aussies against the rest of the world. Nevermind, maybe next time.

Yesterday evening we enjoyed a very pleasant "happy hour" catching up with Raya (Ros and Rick) and their visitors. Unfortunately we haven't managed to connect with Blue Summit (Kate and Steve) as yet. We'd hoped to see them in Somosomo Bay, but, with bad weather forecast for tonight again, we decided to stay in the Blue Lagoon rather than move and they decided to stay anchored off Waya Island. We'll just keep trying. The forecasted bad weather did, however, bring Full Circle (Cindy and David) to the anchorage this afternoon, along with a host of other yachts, so we enjoyed a visit from them earlier this evening.

Before leaving the Blue Lagoon though, Roy, found an interesting jar of what's called "honeyjam". Curious as to what it was, he had asked the shop attendant whether it was a type of honey or a type of jam before he purchased it.  It's fair to say the attendent must have thought he was slightly nuts when she replied: "It is honeyjam". Still clueless he purchased a jar anyway. Turns out, it is, in fact, a mixture of honey and pineapple jam, hence the name. We both had a good giggle about that over a breakfast of toast and honeyjam this morning.
