After a rather lumpy night, it was the alarm clock that woke us up this morning, not the sunrise, which signalled time to get ready, have a quick breakfast and head to shore to catch the 0730 / 0800 bus into Nadi for Elaine's doctor's appointment and physiotherapy session. One of the delights of using the local transportation systems on the various islands around the South Pacific, besides being a very reasonable means of getting around, we also get a glimpse into local life. Since we were on the bus relatively early this morning, we got to see Fijians starting their day, much like anywhere else on the planet - Folks traveling to work, children of all ages, dressed in a myriad of traditional uniforms, going to school, rush hour traffic, shops opening for business. The difference was that everyone greeted each other with a cheery "bula" and a smile. Just a great way to start one's day! After a morning at Zens Medical Centre and armed with the necessary medications after some initial test results, we enjoyed a very inexpensive, but delicious meal at Tata's restaurant just opposite the medical centre, referred to us by the physiotherapist. Two lamb curries, with all the trimmings and a drink each for $7USD - Can't beat that! With the car hire organised and a trip to the fresh produce market completed, we returned to Paw Paw for an afternoon nap and this evening we enjoyed a light meal ashore while watching a Fijian Dance and Fire Dance show.
