Afterwards, it was time to continue with our outstanding tasks, so, while Roy redid the sealant in his head (aka bathroom) having already completed this task in Penang, Malaysia, but unfortunately with substandard sealant unbeknownst to us and not cheap either having purchased it in Australia, Elaine sorted out all the medications in our offshore medical kit. Unfortunately, having replenished everything just before leaving Australia, hanging around SE Asia for two years has resulted in most of the items expiring, which, of course, now have to be replaced. She was, however, able to kill two birds with one stone in putting together the Inventory of Medications Onboard for clearance into the Maldives. She had barely finished when her mom called for a nice long chat, which included a quick chat to her dad, who seems to be on the mend again after a bout of gout and of the flu, the latter barely days after getting his flu shot; Murphy’s Law!
Earlier in the day we also saw our first wedding on the beach since arriving in Thailand. We were spoilt in Senibong Cove and Straits Quay marinas, Malaysia, as these were very popular wedding venues and we got to see various beautiful bridal parties, reflecting the multi-cultural aspects of the country.
Having got the timing of the tide perfectly right later in the day, we were able to enjoy a fabulous long walk on the beach, getting further along than usual, to the beautiful homes and villas bordering the shoreline.
